Labour selects Darlington Candidate Date: 09/12/2009   So we have it, Labour councillor Jenny Chapman is to stand as the Labour party’s choice for Parliamentary candidate in Darlington. Her headline was she will put Darlington first; this mistress of waste always did put Darlington first by spending hard earned Darlington taxpayer’s money on frivolous socialist issues that only supported her own aspiration as an MP but had no real outcome for Darlington. She has been a member of the controlling Labour cabinet which has overseen a council overspending on high cost projects , a council borrowing up to the hilt year on year without consideration of the debt left for future residents of the Town , a council who now faces extreme budgeting problems because it would not act prudently in recent years. She is of course the acolyte of Alan Milburn being his PR for some years so her political skills are Milburnesque. Because of this relationship she was parachuted into the Borough Council Cabinet as a first time councillor with out any probation something which in living memory had never happened before. So her selection was no surprise , it took place a long time ago. The memory of Alan Milburn will be alive and well through his apprentice long after he's gone. Conservatives welcome the challenge and we will make sure it is conducted on fact and not on spin a process Jenny is much more at home with.
